Every week Billboard keeps track of and announces a new chart crowning one song on their Hot 100 list as the most popular song in America that week. This year, we have had 15 different #1 songs so far. 

From Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” to Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” these songs have been played on radio stations and streaming across the nation. But how many #1 songs will we have by Dec. 31? Kalshi bettors predict with 96% certainty that it will be over 17 and with 86% certainty that it will be over 19 No. 1s. 

Here are the top songs we’ve had so far.

Every #1 song on Billboard Hot 100 in 2024

Here’s a quick breakdown of each song and how many weeks it spent at the top spot. 

1. "A Bar Song (Tips)" by Shaboozey

This song has been at the No. 1 spot the longest this year – 15 non-consecutive weeks. This country song is Shaboozey’s first No.1 hit. The song was released on April 12, 2024, and already has over 850 million listens on Spotify. It is currently still at the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 chart.

2. “Please Please Please” by Sabrina Carpenter

“Please Please Please” was at the No. 1 spot for only one week back in June. It was released as the second single of her chart-topping album “Short ‘n Sweet,” and Carpenter’s first No. 1 song. The album also featured hit singles, “Espresso” and “Taste” – neither of which topped the chart. The song was released on June 6, 2024, and has over 930 million listens on Spotify. 

3. “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone feat. Morgan Wallen

The pop-country song was at the top spot for six non-consecutive weeks and was Morgan Wallen’s first No. 1 hit.  Post Malone is already a veteran of the chart and this song is his sixth No. 1, with his fifth one only happening four weeks earlier. This song was released on May 10 of this year and has over 720 million listens on Spotify. 

4. Kendrick Lamar, “Not Like Us”

Spawning from Kendrick Lamar’s beef with Drake, this song spent two non-consecutive weeks at the No. 1 spot. This is Kendrick Lamar’s fourth time topping the chart and outperforming Drake’s “Family Matters” which landed at the No. 7 spot. “Not Like Us” was released on May 4, 2024, and has over 860 million listens on Spotify. 

5. “Fortnight” by Taylor Swift feat. Post Malone

As we all know, Taylor Swift is no stranger to this chart with this single being her 12th No. 1. Post Malone doesn’t have as many but also has frequented the chart many times (twice this year) and this one being his fifth time. This song was released with the album, “The Tortured Poets Department” on April 18, 2024, and has over 700 million listens on Spotify. 

6. “Too Sweet” by Hozier

Shockingly, this is Hozier’s first No. 1 spot, with his mega-hit “Take Me To Church” peaking at the No. 2 spot back in December 2014. The song went viral on TikTok and spent one week at the No. 1 spot. This song was released on March 22, 2024, and has over 1.04  billion listens on Spotify.

7. “Like That” by Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar

This chart-topping song spent three weeks at the top of the chart. This was Future and Kendrick Lamar’s third No.1 hit, and Metro Boomin’s first as a recording artist. This song is also the third and final single from Future and Metro Boomin’s No. 1 album, “We Don’t Trust You.” Released on March 22, 2024, this single has over 560 million listens on Spotify.

8. “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims

This song is what brought Teddy Swims to mainstream success and spent one week at the top. It is his first song to ever chart on the Hot 100. It debuted at No. 99 and took 32 weeks to reach the top spot making it the longest climb for a solo male artist in the chart’s history. The smash hit has over 1.22 billion listens on Spotify after being released on June 23, 2023.

9. “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” by Ariana Grande

This is the second song this year from Ariana Grande to top the charts. It spent one week at the top and is her second single from the album, “Eternal Sunshine.” This is Grande’s seventh single to debut at the No. 1 spot, which is the most among women. This song was produced by hitmaker Max Martin, who holds the record for the most No. 1 hits produced, with 25 chart-toppers. The song was released on March 8, 2024, and has over 970 million listens on Spotify. 

10. “Carnival” by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign feat. Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti

This song spent one week at the top and is Kanye West’s fifth chart-topper this is Ty Dolla $ign’s second and Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti’s first. The song name-drops Taylor Swift which triggered a backlash from her superfan Swifites. After being released on February 9, 2024, the song now has over 600 million listens on Spotify.

11. “Texas Hold ‘Em” by Beyoncé

This country song spent two weeks at the top of the chart and was a surprise release. This song also made Beyoncé the first Black woman to ever top the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. It is also her ninth No. 1 hit as a solo artist. The song was released on February 11, 2024, and has over 550 million listens on Spotify.

12. “Hiss” by Megan Thee Stallion

This song spent one week at the top and is Megan Thee Stallion’s first solo No. 1. Her last two previous chart-toppers were collabs with Beyoncé (“Savage”) and Cardi B (“WAP”). It’s the second single from her album, “Hot Girl Productions.” Released on January 26, 2024, the song has over 100 million listens on Spotify.

13. “Yes, And?” by Ariana Grande

“Yes, And?” is the lead single from Grande’s seventh album “Eternal Sunshine,” and spent one week on top of the chart. This song features a mix of house and pop elements and refers to controversies Grande had found herself embroiled in recent years. The song was released on January 12, 2024, and has over 510 million listens on Spotify.

14. “Lovin on Me” by Jack Harlow

Jack Harlow’s track spent five non-consecutive weeks at the top spot in 2024. The song went viral on TikTok and was the first song from his new era. It’s his third chart-topper after “First Class” and  “Industry Baby” with Lil Nas X. The song was released on November 10, 2023, and has over 780 million listens on Spotify. 

15. “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee

This 1958 Christmas classic topped the charts 65 years after it was first released! Brenda Lee was 78 years old at that point and became the oldest person to officially top the chart. This is Lee’s third song to reach the top. The classic has over 1.02 billion listens on Spotify.
