Is Lana Del Rey pregnant? No… or at least she hasn’t announced it yet. But people are betting on whether or not she is on Polymarket.
The singer recently got married and the internet and social media are abuzz with pregnancy rumors. “Why did she get married?” “Is she pregnant?” “Who is her husband?” With all these rumors circulating, a market launched on Sept. 27, 2024. Now, the chance is listed at a low 17% and the market resolves if she announces or doesn’t announce her pregnancy before the end of the year.
Lana Del Rey and Jeremy Dufrene’s relationship timeline
Del Rey’s new husband is Jeremy Dufrene. He is an alligator tour operator in Louisiana with two kids. Back in 2019, Del Rey posted about taking Dufrene’s airboat tour with the caption, “Jeremy lemme be captain at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours x.”
While the two met five years ago, she has not been dating him since then. Her dating history over the past five years includes managing partner at Range Media Partners, Evan Winiker, rock band member Jack Donoghue, musician Clayton Johnson, and others.
When Del Rey actually started dating Dufrene is unclear. In May, Del Rey posted an Instagram post with her caption referring to Dufrene as “my guy.”
In August, the couple was spotted holding hands at the Leeds Festival in England. On Sep. 8, the couple attended model Karen Elson and Lee Foster’s wedding together. And a week later, pictures were taken of the couple sitting on a porch in Louisiana. In the photo, you can see Del Rey wearing a ring on her ring finger, which many assumed was an engagement ring.
On Sept. 23, People reported that Del Rey and Dufrene got their marriage license at Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court. They had 30 days to get married from the date they applied. By Sept. 26, Daily Mail published photos from the couple’s wedding.
Why do people think Lana Del Rey is pregnant?
Since Del Rey only officially went public at the Leeds Festival a month before their wedding, many fans online believe the wedding happened very quickly. Some are going so far as to say that it’s a shotgun wedding. As in, a rushed wedding because the singer is pregnant. Hence, the rumors and Polymarket market betting on this pregnancy.
The market launched at a 50% chance on Sept. 27 before crashing down to 12% several hours later and staying there. With more details being revealed about the wedding, the chances went up and down again before returning to 13%.
One new report by TMZ claimed that Del Rey bought her wedding dress months ago from a thrift shop, which would make people less likely to believe it was a shotgun wedding. However, two days later, the New Orleans vintage shop Trashy Diva posted on social that she hadn’t bought the dress from there.
All of these rumors have only egged on paparazzi and the media to continue to speculate about the relationship. In an Instagram comment, Del Rey called out New Orleans paparazzi for going above and beyond to get snaps of her and her new husband. Claiming the paparazzi were flying drones and switching vehicles to follow them.
While the rumors of Lana Del Rey’s pregnancy continue to swirl, they remain just that — rumors. Her low-key nature and the secrecy surrounding her relationship with Jeremy Dufrene have only fueled public curiosity and market speculation. But as with many celebrity gossip stories, we won’t know until a pregnancy announcement is officially made. Until then, the Polymarket bets will continue.
